Dr. Tanner is the best! She's the only person I will allow to put her hands in my mouth, EXCEPT for the one exception, her dental assistant Lynne (And of course my husband, but we aren't reviewing him). Lynne and Dr. Tanner are kind and patient and hilariously funny. I never worry about my dental health while it's in their hands. I haven't had a cavity since I've been there, which i owe entirely to their care. If I ever got a cavity I would sue them, which they know. As a retired Pediatric Dentist I believe my review may carry some weight.  I can say unequivocally that this is the office you want to come for your dental needs.  Dr Tanner and Lynn the hygienist are both caring, compassionate and professional along with their entire office.  This is not my first dental office in Asheville but will certainly be my last. Dr. Tanner, and everyone at River Arts Dentistry, is amazing! They are so personable, welcoming, and kind. I used to feel a lot of shame and anxiety when going to the dentist. That has disappeared since I started seeing Dr. Tanner. Going to the dentist has actually become a downright pleasure. The RAD team go above and beyond every time I'm there, especially with my three-year old. I know she's starting a lifetime of good habits and building a positive attitude about dental care because of how great Lynn and Dr. Tanner are with her. I've never had a problem getting seen quickly for dental emergencies, even for my husband who wasn't an established patient when his permanent retainer popped out. Leigh (Dr tanner) and her hygienist Lynn are the best dental providers I’ve ever been to! It’s really the only time I haven’t dreaded going to the dentist. They are both very skilled and they explain what you have going on so it makes sense. Plus they have actually good music to listen to! Oh and a dental office that actually runs on time!?— that is worth noting! We keep driving back to go see them even after we moved away from Asheville because I don’t want to change dentists after finding such an amazing office.  Everyone who works there is competent and nice— the front desk folks, the hygienist assistant Lizzy… and David does a great job with the insurance stuff because the paperwork is always worked out so it is approved and paid for even though they aren’t technically in network anymore it seems to go fine!
